Jack Berry Jessop opened J. B. Jessop on High Street South, East Ham, in 1931. His son Alan took it on, then Allan, the third generation, until the shop closed in 2023.
JBJ Supplies carries the same initials, the same trade relationships and the same way of looking after customers.

JBJ Supplies is a family-run building materials supplier run by Allan Jessop. Allan sources timber, building and roofing materials, drylining, insulation, flooring, doors and ironmongery through long-standing trade accounts, and delivers direct to homes and sites across Essex, from its base near Maldon, and into London, Kent, Suffolk and Surrey.
Do you have a shop or yard I can visit?
No. JBJ Supplies doesn’t run a shop or yard. Allan works through his trade accounts and supplier relationships, and materials go straight from the supplier to you. You deal with Allan directly, from quote to delivery.
How do I get a quote?
Send your materials list through the quote form, email sales@jbjessop.co.uk or call Allan on 07971 245572. A rough list is fine. Allan will check sizes and quantities with you, then come back with a quote, including delivery details.
Where do you deliver?
JBJ Supplies is based near Maldon and delivers across Essex, including Chelmsford, Witham, Braintree, Colchester and Southend, as well as London, Kent, Suffolk and Surrey. If your site is just outside those areas, ask anyway.
Who do you supply?
Anyone who needs building materials: builders and contractors, schools and colleges, businesses and venues, including ExCeL London, and homeowners doing their own projects. There’s no minimum job size.
