This notice explains what happens to the details you give us through this website, by email or by phone.

Who we are

What we collect

• Quote requests: your name, email, phone number, delivery postcode, the type of customer you are, the materials you need and when you need them.
• Holiday works planner: your name, school, email, delivery postcode, phone number if you give it, and the jobs and materials on your list.
• Orders: the delivery address and site contact we need to get materials to you, and the details needed to invoice you.
• Website visits: our hosting provider keeps short-term technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to run the site and keep it secure.

We don't take card payments on this website.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To price your materials and reply to your enquiry: taking steps at your request before a contract.
• To supply and deliver your order and invoice you: performing our contract with you.
• To keep accounts and tax records: a legal obligation.
• To run and secure the website, and to follow up a quote we've sent you: our legitimate interests.

We won't send you marketing unless you ask for it, and we never sell your details.

Who we share it with

• Suppliers and hauliers delivering your order, who get only the delivery details they need.
• Web3Forms, which passes form submissions to our email.
• Vercel, which hosts this website.
• Our email provider and accountant, as part of running the business.
• HMRC or other authorities, where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law allows, such as UK adequacy regulations or the ICO's international data transfer agreement.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries and quotes that don't lead to an order: up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Orders and invoices: six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, for tax and accounting.
• Website logs: deleted by our hosting provider after a short period.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your details, correct them, delete them, restrict how we use them, or stop using them where we rely on legitimate interests. Email sales@jbjessop.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This website doesn't use cookies for tracking or advertising, and has no analytics. Fonts, photos and video are served from our own site, not from third parties.

Changes

If we change how we use your details, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
